Lighting design for concerts and the stage

Besides shooting and editing, part of my work involves planning lighting for concerts and stage performances, because good lighting can completely change how a show feels, often more than the stage itself.

Controlling scenes, not just colours

Concert lighting isn't just about picking colours for the fixtures. It's about controlling scenes: when each spot comes on, how the intensity changes during a song, and how it all follows the performer's energy on stage. Every scene in a set has to be planned in advance, but also flexible enough to adapt live.

Lighting as part of a show's visual identity

Combining spotlights, backlighting and intensity control creates the visual language of a show, much like a logo or colour palette defines a brand. When the lighting follows the music and the movement, the audience gets a far more intense experience than with standard, static house lights.
